More Information:	Raghurajpur is a small village of Puri district Odisha, carries the tradition and heritage of art and culture of Odishi village Patachitra by using natural color.This village contains 140 patachitrakar family who are actually involved with this profession. Maharana and Mahapatra are two main caste who has started this art initially and there are total 20 families. Now a days there are few more caste added who are doing the same work together with Maharana and Maharaja. Most interesting factor is here every single family has their own speciality of art and you can separate them some how. Not only Patachitra, they make these art on glass bottle, Toshar silk, coconut shell, bettle nut, photo frame, mattress, paper board, shapes, wood and not the least in their house wall. Do not start buying from the shops which are on the entrance of the village. Go inside and interact with the families, spend time, see their work and buy things as per your choice. Villagers collect stone from Koraput, a tribal area, and make colors by processing and mixing each other. Hingul, Harital, Khandanil are some of the stones they use. They use theme like Odishi, tribal soura painting, god-goddess etc. Some of the artists, I found and met, are brilliant in various subjects of art. Most of the houses are selling products from inside their home. So you can go inside and visit their gallery. The core village is actually small and you can cover it by walk once you get down from the car. Do not get confused once you reach to the village as people will mob you up and convince to go and see their work. Take time and wisely handle the situation.
