More Information: Bisinda is one of the newest offbeat destinations in West Bengal which is a part of Gangajalghati, Bankura. Unlike any other rural destinations it’s weather and environment is pretty different, even though there is nothing specific or remarkable to see but it will gives you another flavour of satisfaction by its breeze, sky, greenery, people and many more.

At present there are one manager name Kailash, 2 brillant cook named Ramu and Rajeev and few helpers who are having alternative or non permanent shifts. There are 2 big rooms adjacent to each other and 5 small rooms is a few steps away from it. One big kitchen nearby the big room which they are gonna make another big accommodation in future. And the kitchen will be shifted in between big and small rooms. They are installing swings and maintaining gardens. There are lot more plantations going on around the place. So obviously they are growing their business gradually. The place is entirely isolated from the locality which gives it a different definition. People visit there can feel the silence throughout the day. Local people organise village market on Tuesday and Sunday near by the village. You may go buy fresh vegetables in very cheap rate. In winter you can buy real fresh jaggery from Felara Hazdar who is a villagers. You can easily find his house on the right side first one entering to the gate of Bisinda Nachan Chandi village. You should order it one day prior if you want buy it.

Cook Ramu belongs to the tribal community. It helps certain visitors a lot in case of exploring their knowledge by knowing culture food language and all. Many visitors who belongs to the city and get tired of the metro life, they get a chance to get attached with tribal culture by communicating with Ramu. Ramu is also a person who is taking initiatives organising night Safari by walking through the local areas. This area is very fond of Golden jackal, Bengal fox, India hare this kind of exclusive species. If you are lucky enough you may get to see those animals during the Safari. Night is very soothing to explore birds like Owls, Nightjars etc.

The main attraction of this place is Nachanchandi pahar which is just adjacent to the stay. Basically this is a small altitude, where there is a small religious exertion of Sadhak Bangla Prashad who used to be a simple person in this village long back. Now he became monk after practice religion 10 long years. You can go talk to him and request for masala tea. He prepares it well. There are 3 religious spots in that altitudes, those are Hanumaan temple, Mahadev temple and Nachan Chandi temple. There are few steps to climb up the altitude and everyone go on top to get an amazing view of the entire village. Experiencing sunset is one of the best idea to persuade.

Most of the metro people go there and stay to get the flavour of village, they relax for 2/3 days. Local people go for picnic and come back in the same day. Wildlife lovers go their for animal and birds photography. You should stay there at least for 2 nights to get most of the flavours of that place. The place is surrounded by paddy fields 3/4 side. Another side covers that Nachan Chandi pahar. You should expect basic amenities form this place. Go as soon as possible before the place become an over exposed. The beds of the big rooms contains at least 3 adults and the room rate is less than 1000 for per night. Food rate is separate, based on what you eat. But frankly you can make a sudden visit by very cheap rate and it’s worth it.

There are no such activities except just relaxing and roaming the place. If you wish you can visit Karo pahar and Gangdua dam nearby. For that you have to hire toto. By asking Kailash babu, he can arrange. And if you are having car, then just navigate it by your own.

Things to remember

  • Carry few medicines which are basics
  • Carry torch light and mosquito spray

Karo hill and Tapovan Ashram

Karo pahar is around 13 km away from Bisinda and can be seen easily on the right side of the main road if someone is heading towards Gangajalghati from Beliator. This place is kind of heaven I must say. Peace is everywhere in that ashram. The entire area is very decorative and full of trees and gardens. No entry fee is there for tourist. There are Bishnu temple on the plain area and Mata Parvati temples on the hill top. From the top the entire city view is pretty amazing. Obviously the best time to visit this place in winter. Morning or evening doesn’t matter, anytime is perfect for visiting this place. Here Mata Parvati is four handed white marbled idol. The temple remains open from morning to evening. Avoid visiting this place in picnic hours or weekends of winter.

Gangdua Dam

Gangdua dam is another beautiful place to visit. People visit and stay there booking PHE and private guests house near by the dam area. It creates a beautiful sunset and the reflection of the sun into the dam water tranquils your mind. Susunia hill is visible from this place. Avoid picnic season to get best flavour of this places.
