|More Information:||It can be a lovely weekend destination to stay at Muruguma for 2 nights and enjoy the aesthetic beauty of the village. Roam around the village, feel the beauty of nature. In the evening enjoy the sunset and then take a little bit liquor and have adda with friends. In the morning during season (February March) you can ask for "Mahua", local drinks. You may get the fresh one by request which will be fetch by the local from nearby village. Wake up early and roam around the water body and get oxygen as much as you can. Also can go for the sightseeing to Ayodhya, Charida, Khoyrabera, Deulghata etc.
I have visited this area in two season i.e. in post Winter as well as Monsson. I prefer to go in Winter because of the clear blue sky, clear sunset, blueish water of the dam, green Muruguma valley across the water body and the climate. In Monsoon that valley will go under the waterbody. Muruguma is famous for sunset, in monsoon you will miss sunset most of the time because of the cloud. But you may get the vivid color of the sky when it is not raining. Another best season is Autumn, when you will find Purulia red everywhere you go because of "Palash" flower. That is in March April. Choice is yours.
In Muruguma there are few cottage has been built up. Among those Bon Palashi and Palash Bitan Jungle(Eco)Huts are the oldest. Both are situated very near to the dam area. They have tent, cottage and various kind of accommodation. The area is pretty vast, inside of the campus they installed open dinning, planted trees, siting arrangement, solar system etc. Besides these there are another eco cottage i.e. Muruguma eco hut. Except that there are Mahulbanee Jungle Eco Resort, Murguma Nature Camp, Eco-Cottage Aranya Kutir (Around 20 min walking distance from the water body). They have their websites and phone numbers and tariff mentioned. You can google it. All ask near about 1300 - 2500 rs per cottage or tents excluding food. It will be best if you go with a team of 4/5 people to share the amount equally.
One who stays in Muruguma must visit Begun Kodor village, beautiful railway station and aesthetic vegetable market. You will like it most in Winter. Don't judge the village by the rumour rather find the beauty in each corner of the village and markets. Vegetable market of Begun Kodar is very unique by it's color, people and stuff which are being sold.
