More Information: | For me it’s always been a pleasure to zoom in Google map and roam around my country. One day I was going through the ghats on the bank of Hoogly river and found out there are countless unique ghats and temples which mostly being unnoticed now a days. I found immense interest to visit those and nearby temple whose are moreover 200 years old. So I decided to visit Uttarpara to Serampore and explore the ghats and temples on those areas. Well let me tell you if you plan to visit those temples and ghats, you won’t be able to cover it in one day. Yes obviously you wish to spend quality time, feel the history belongs to that, not being into rush, then take time. I bet you won’t feel bore rather come to see the variety and beauty of each one. Even though those local ghats and temples are mostly used by local people but if you start early, you can also enjoy taking bath on the river. All the places are following GT road, so if you wish to take local transport you can hire toto. For this kind of one day trip you must use Google map and locations. If you wish to you can cross the river by ferry and again comeback. I must tell you, throughout your journey it’s better to carry food from your home. Even though local markets and shops are nearby available but it’s a bit problematic to find the right one. And I feel that is a serious issue over there. Carry water too. Avoid four wheelers to make this kind of trip hassle free. Being a very congested and busy area, you will hardly get chance to park your vehicles or keep it in right place. Ghats are adjacent to each others, so it’s better to walk of take toto. |
