More Information: | Taki is a very well known and easily accessible tourist destination for people who lives in Kolkata. And this is a place where there is no specific season for visiting. If you are going by car then there is no issue of parking because besides the Rajbari ghat (very well known ghat of Ichamoti river, you can say it is a landmark ), you will get a huge parking area which is chargeable. If you are going to stay in any of the hotels in Taki then you have to find whether that hotel has parking area or not. Most of the hotels have that facility. So you need not to worry about that. See if you are thinking about the cost as per petrol price you will see it’s gonna be an expensive one if you are driving a car. So guy like me always use local train where there is a possibility to access it to make a budget tour. And Taki is one of the tourist place, where you can easily access local train from Sealdah. That is Hasnabaad local. Remember the journey is about 2 and half hours and it’s gonna be a very comfortable one for sure. You will enjoy greenery outside, get cool breeze once you cross Barasat. You will also enjoy the local stations name. Some of those are way strange. Remember you have to get down in Taki road which is one stop ahead the terminal that is Hasnabaad. From there you have to get one shared toto and tell them you want to go Ranbari ghat. By 20 rs only they will reach you to the destination within 10 min. So you count the less amount you are gonna spend right. After reaching there you can have your lunch from the hotels out there. There are many food stall and hotels are available on the belt of the river. So the next thing you have to do is to hire toto for the local sightseeing.. if you want to cover it in a single day it’s gonna be a bit hectic for you, rather you can stay there for one day and enjoy the evening and night beside the river and make the entire plan for two days and cover it all. In every season you will get different flavour of this place. But it is very special in Dashera every year which comes in October on the 1oth day of Durga Puja. Immersion of Maa Durga in Ichamoti is a very rich tradition and culture you will get to see if you plan to go there in that season. Well let me inform you as October is one of the main seasons when you should book hotels in prior basis. Same for the weekend of December and January or in special occasion. You do your plan accordingly. If you book toto for the sightseeing if will cost per side 300-400 rs each as per your bargain power. Remember: while visiting to Golpata Golpata forest, you have to carry your identity proof and on the way you have to entry your name and submit your id-card to the BSF security guard, then only you will get permission to make an entry in that spot. Next you have to collect pass from another counter adjacent to forest by paying 20 rs. Route Map to follow |
