How to go: | Any local train going towards Katwa, Agradwip is the railway station to get down. From there take local tracker which is going through Mistripara. It will take around 10 min and 15 rs hardly. Tell driver that you are going to Notungram art village. What I have noticed bus, rickshaw or toto is not going to the destination unless you hire something. But I don't think for Notungram only this is necessary to hire. |

More Information: | Intro The village is known as Notungram, but more preciously this is Mistripara. Notungram is adjacent to this village and not so far from Agradwip railway station. Almost 60 artist families hold the tradition as wooden doll makers for several years and most of them are entitled as Sutradhar and Bhaskar. They mostly concentrate on the wooden figure of Owl as we all know owl is considered as auspicious escort of goddess Laxmi. Besides that they are perusing dolls of Radha-Krishna, king-queen, wooden stool and chair, door and show piece as well. Nearby attraction
Whom you can hire If you want to cover all the places you can hire Sujoy Sarkar (+91 8116807993) who is very gentle guy and keep patience through out the whole journey. Do not avail toto until and unless the road condition gets well constructed. Ask him and then hire correctly. He can arrange car too. I strongly recommend to take car so that you can cover all the spots without any harassment. You can include Khirgram Jogatta Kali temple also which is 17 km away from Sribati. Stay Government of West Bengal's Department of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises & Textiles has developed Natungram as one of the Rural Craft Hubs of the WB. WBKVIB has developed an art gallery along with lodging facility that is equipped with all basic amenities.
