More Information: | We are driving on one of the most beautiful highways in Karnataka, that’s is Mysore highway and heading towards Bandipur. From Bangalore it is around 200 km by road. It was an extremely beautiful experience to stay a night in JLR because of their food accommodations Safari stuff behaviour and professionalism. They don’t compromise with guest comfort. If you need to buy any small household stuff you can find few shops within 100 metres outside from JLR. The advantage of JLR is just pay the package amount, you will get everything on your fingertips. Things are very systematic, the campus is pretty organised and clean. All kind of required amenities are available, stuffs are available for any kind of assistance. Accommodations are pretty nice clean and hygienic. Even though by cost JLR is a bit expensive, but when you notice the entire package includes accommodation, 3 time unlimited food, 2 times safari then you will find out 7000 is okay for one day. The advantage of JLR is you don’t need to worry about safari tickets or form long queue as the guide will get that from the safari ticket counter which is 1 km away from the resort. Both afternoon and early morning before safari they take you to the ticket counter where you have to wait for 15 min, after that they will start. JLR has 6/7 camper which accommodates 9 people each. They have one driver and one guide who will take you to the core area of the forest and total duration will be 3 hours per safari. Cost for people who are not staying in JLR: Who are not staying in JLR for them there are 3 options. Camper 8 seater, gypsy for 5 people and bus. For camper safari fee is 5000 per car, guide charge 300, entry 300/person and duration is 90 min. For Gypsy safari is 3500 per car, guide charge 300, entry 300/person and duration 90 min. And for bus safari is 300, entry fee 300/person and guide charge 10/person. Timing For bus morning timing 6:15 to 7:45 and 7:45 to 9:30, evening timing 2:30 to 4:00, 4:00 to 5:30, 5:30 to 6:45 For gypsy morning timing 6:15 to 8:00, 8:00 to 9:45, evening timing 2:30 to 4:30, 4:30 to 6:30. One thing I must say Bandipur safari doesn’t focus on birds, it mainly focus on tigers and leopards. Other animals like spotted deer, Neelguy, elephants, Indian gour, barking deer, languor can be seen now and then. But luck matters for tiger and leopard. Unfortunately we missed it 2/3 times. Peafowl, Grey jungle fowl, Oriental honey buzzard, Crested serpent eagle, brown fish owl, Indian roller, streak throated woodpecker can be found there. Red spar fowls are also there but it is hard to capture. Over all safari experience was good but obviously not able to see any cat family was a grief in heart. Jungle beauty was remarkable and breathtaking though. You can carry snacks and drinking water with you. For more information you can visit http://www.junglelodges.com/bandipur-safari-lodge/ |
