How to go: | If you are availing four wheeler, from Airport No 1 take Belgharia Express way, Dankuni - Burdwan - Panagarh - Muchipara bus stand (take right) and head towards - you can take right from Malandighi Police station (Ask direction for Shama Rupa Mandir or Medhashram) or go straight for 3 km keeping the police station on right, then turn right towards Jungle. If you are going by local bus which is going to Durgapur, get down in Muchipara More and hire toto for Garh Jungle. |

This is basically Shaal tree forest surrounded by. Apart from that there are Tridebi's temple in this jungle area, i.e. Temple of Mahakali, Mahasaraswati and Mahalakshmi. Now, along with them Ashram of Medhas Muni, a Temple of Mahakal Bhairab is also there. During season i.e. winter and pre-monsoon birders go for birding in this area. Nature gives immense beauty inside every corner in the jungle. If a group go to that jungle with food and water, they can easily spend a whole day forgetting that they are inside a crowded city. But being silent is very very necessary to get the bird chirping sound, feel the silence of the jungle, sounds of trees. One can go in any season they want, because every season shows different types of beauty in the jungle. In the campus of Shyamarupa Kali temple there is a watch tower, if you go to the top of that you can see Damodar river passing by from far if the weather is clear enough. Walking through the jungle will gives you the feel of many other dense forests in India. Four wheeler can easily go through the jungle, so with a group of friends or family member you can spend a whole day inside the jungle. Joydev Kenduli Few Kilometers away of Garh Jungle, Joydev Kenduli is one of the famous visiting spot of this area. Over the river Ajoy there is a bridge is called Joydev Kenduli bridge which connects GT road and Morgram Panagarh state highway. The bank of the river become over crowded by the time of fair in January. Pilgrims and monks from various parts of India assembled here for 1 long week due to the famous Makar Sankranti festival. People should visit once for this purpose. Except that there is one Pancharatna terracotta temple situated nearby the bridge in market area. Once can take the direct bus from Durgapur to reach Joydev Kenduli. Bus service in available 30 min alter, and the entire route is beautiful. One who wants to stay in Joydev Kenduli, there is one backpackers camp you will find in Google also. On the prior basis you can book it. Madhaiganj British Airport In Burdwan district if you search, you will find several British airport which are fully abandoned now a day. You will find long runway which has been constructed in British era due to short halt or loading and unloading goods purpose. Madhaiganj British Airport is one of those. As it is nearby to Garh Jungle, one can take a look of that. Car bike all can pass by. you can search in map and get the route. |
