Actually those are one kind of Bamboo trees abandonedly grow up in this valley. Let's see the key features of this place. Season: There are 4 seasons one can enjoy this valley. 1. Summer. 2. Autumn. 3. Monsoon. 4. Winter. In summer people will find this valley a bit yellowish. No such flower or blooms can be seen then. In Autumn people will enjoy all kind of beautiful flower specially Dzukou Lili. In Monsoon you will find the valley absolutely lush green along with no such flowers and in winter we will find the whole valley covered with frost and the green will look a bit pale. But whenever you go, you will love it. Journey: Well the journey for Dzukou will always remain memorable. Half of the journey (1000 m) will be pretty much rough and stiff. Various kind of flora and fauna will amaze you through out the journey. People put mile stone and mark of height here and there. All should carry water and few dry food by their own. All must wear proper trekking shoes to avoid unnecessary accident. Second half of the journey starts when you reach the valley. Then you have to walk around 8 km. plain narrow muddy road pass across the valley to reach trekker hut. Flora and faunas are very limited there. Few burnt and fatal tree is increasing the beauty of that valley. The whole valley is covered with small bamboo trees. Stay: The only option to stay there is trekker hut. There are 2 basic treater huts and 1 hut which contains bed additionally. Trekker huts are basically made of wooden wall having brick based wall on lower part and adbaster on the roof and floor is also wooden. It has few wooden framed windows side by side, also has a basic common toilet and a kitchen outside . They provide pillow and blanket, also they provide sleeping bag , For that you have to pay separately. Till now trekker hut does not contains any electricity. If you carry tent and stove, you can accommodate yourself besides or inside the treater hut. Sometimes they provide tent also. Per tent they take 1000 INR. I will show you the rate chart of Dzukou valley in gallery section. Food: There are 3 local guys who take care of food and basic needs. They cook very basic food like rice, dal and potato sabji. Sometimes they provide omlette with rice. You will find instant maggie on a small shop there. You will also find biscuits and few other necessary things into that shop. They install a pipe through which they connect some waterfall to get drinking water. Frankly it won't harm you. All I can say they provide basic needs. Way to access: There are basically two points from Nagaland to access Dzukou. 1. Vishwama 2. Zakhama ... Zakhama is said to be tuffer than Vishwama. But We access Vishwama route. There are again 2 ways from Vishwama. One is right and another one is left. Right one is not so organized and a bit tuff, where as left one contains broken staircase and comparatively easy but lengthy. We use right one to climb up and left one to get down. |
