More Information: | Dawki is one of the most beautiful place in Meghalaya. It is placed on the North east border of India and Bangladesh. It is the confluence of Dawki (India) and Goyain river (Bangladesh). The vast area of the bank is being created as an amusement spot of tourist where you can spend half of the day of your itinerary. This place is very well known for the crystal clear green deep water and the boat service on it. One can get the amazing view of the water from the top and the boats look like it is floating above. Boat service is very frequent and the rate is nominal. It will ride you for 30 min around 1 km and then come back. You will get to see people are fishing on the river and few localities are taking bath on the evening. You can clearly see the big fishes around you while riding the boat, you also see the clear bottom surface of the water. You will be amazed to see the border of two countries openly on the bank of river. People of two countries talk to each other with a happiness and joy. Few vendors from Bangladesh are selling pickles on the bank and you can buy it using Indian currency. I suggest you to take a view of sunset and then come back. You will get to take amazing photograph from this place. |
