More Information: | General travellers may not be knowing about Bhigwan but for bird watcher this place is one of the dream bird watching destinations in India. If you notice you will clearly see the rush of bird watchers to this specially protected land in Monsoon and winter. So hope you understand there are two seasons for bird watching in Bhigwan. We go their multiple times to cover all the species found in or near by Bhigwan which doesn’t limited only for birds but wild animals like Indian grey wolf, Hyena, Indian fox, Chinkara, Jungle cat, Indian civet and many more exclusive species. Majority will know about two famous bird watchers organisations in Bhigwan. 1. Kranti flamingo point, 2. Agnipankh flamingo point. They have started their business around 10 years back and reached to a level by training more and more people as a guide to increase the team, accommodation and business. They became the pioneer for Bhigwan, Saswad, Mahabaleshwar bird watching. Monsoon and winter becomes out of the hand to handle booking for the visitors but they organise it very well. They are competitors with each other but also friendly in the field of work. Now a days Agnipankh has more number of accommodation than Kranti. They set up 2 separate buildings to accommodate their guests all are like 3/4 sharing max. As per the room or groups they have to organise guide and cars right? And every car accommodates max 4 people which visitors don’t want basically, so they choose max 3 people in a group to get the window of the car because most of all will want to photograph birds or animals. Both organisers constructed their building on the bank of Bhima river, where they do their water birds Safari. And roam around multiple grounds in or nearby Kumbhargaon, Indapur area for ground birds and animal safari. They do night Safari also in their local area. They mainly focus on Chameleon, Jungle cat, Indian civet, Indian nightjar, Savanna nightjar etc. for water birds the specific season is winter which starts from November upto March. This season is also famous for passage migratory birds and all the exclusive raptors like different eagles (Greater spotted eagle, Steppe eagle, Bonelli's eagle, Tawny eagle, Short-toed snake eagle etc), vultures and falcon and harriers like Peregrine falcon, Shaheen falcon, Red-necked falcon, Pallid harrier, Montagu's harrier, Short-eared owl and mane more. Winter time is also good for watching Hyenas with cubs in Bhigwan. Another important season is Monsoon for all kind of Quails like Rain quail, Barred buttonquail, Yellow-legged buttonquail, Small Buttonquail, Sandgrouse like Chestnut-bellied sandgrouse, Painted sandgrouse, Indian Courser, White-bellied minivet, Brown crake, Painted francolin, Broad-tailed grassbird and many more. So Bhigwan is like a hub for bird watcher. Talking about landscape, it has an ability to amaze you in every aspect. Hope you can get some idea from my videos.
