If you can go by walk you will get proper rural vibes, activities, get to know the local people, talk to them and know their activities. You will really get different tastes from those villages.
How to go: From Namkhana, Bakkhali is 26 km by road. On the way there are different routes passes through left or right for other tourists spots. On the way from 8 miles bazar, turn right, it will take you to Patibunia from where you can go Mousuni Island. After few km ahead through main road you will get Koyla Ghat, from there turn left and you can reach to kalisthan Beach passing around 5 km. You can get toto from the stop beside main road. Again from the main road few km ahead from Jetty Ghat if you turn left, you can reach to Henry's Island. Then again from main road if you move forward you will reach Fresarganj and Bakkhali respectively. Bakkhali In South Bengal, Bakkhali is one of the oldest coastal tourism of West Bengal situated in extreme south of the state. People who are not very fond of crowd, they easily get their steps in Bakkhali. Many other coastal tourism in south Bengal like Mousuni, Fraserganj, Henry's, G-plot, Sagar Island, Jammu Dweep are not so popular like Bakkhali because of their communication and availabilities in many aspects. So Bakkhali become a center attractions as an individual tourist destination. Most of the people stays in Bakkhali and visit nearby hiring toto because of its communication. Vast beach and water is clean enough and favourable for taking bath. But people have to be very careful for the accidents occurred due to quicksand. This place gifts beautiful sunset. In the evening in full moon night, sitting in the coast gives immense pleasure. There are many food stalls and hotels nearby the coast so people don't need to rush here and there for food. There are deer park and Banbibi temple near by the sea beach. You can have a walk and visit the unique temple. It is just 400 m away from the main beach chowk towards east. One can get bus from Namkhana as well as Kolkata from Bakkhali bus stand itself. So, you can have a quick weekend trip without thinking much. FraserGanj: Fraserganj is very famous for it's wind farm, Harbour Fish Auction Center and ruined House of Mr. Fraser. Those can be covered in one go. From there one can go to Kargil Beach which is headed towards West from Fraserganj. You can go there as it is around 1 km walk only within a rural area. Kargil beach is the next one to Fraserganj beach, and very much known for migratory birds as well as vast dried fish farm. You can also visit Maa Ganga temple which is known to be very divine and Spiritual for the local people. Frasergunj is very less crowded and muddy beach which is not suitable for taking bath like Bakkhali. One can buy dried fishes from there. 3/4 people can create a very good company as the nature diversity can influence different people in different way. Where to stay Frankly there are hell lot of hotels in Bakkhali, you can choose by your own. Go check out the rooms, find out the tariff and choose. Most of the hotel tariff comes under max 600-700 rs per night. Must try Fried fish in the evening from the beach. Many people think they may get stomach problem, but I have checked it properly, Those fishes are more or less fresh and few are alive also and the oil they use are also not used from the previous day. Also I found they don't fry it in open, but they do it behind the cart so that dust or salt from breeze won't get mixed into the fry. So you must enjoy as much as you can. But yes just verify the fishes by your own once for your satisfaction. You can do local sightseeings like Henry's Island, Fresarganj etc by hiring toto from Bakkhali. Talk to them clearly and fix the rate. |
