More Information: | Have you ever thought of staying inside a lush green forest, where the property is entirely isolated from civilization? Where tall trees cover the entire area, restricting sunlight from entering? Where a lazy river meanders through the campus? Where you’ll find a bird hide frequently visited by the birds of the Western Ghats? Where the only sounds you hear are the twitters of birds and the whispers of trees? If so, this video is for you. Anejhari Butterfly Camp is located in Udupi district, specifically within the Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary. If you visit during the monsoon season, around July, August, or September, you'll witness an abundance of butterflies in the camp. However, birdwatching during that season may not be ideal, so plan your trip accordingly. As soon as I entered the campus, I was mesmerized by the smell of the soil and the lush greenery. The way JLR blends the accommodations with nature is truly remarkable. My first thought upon arriving was, How can someone spend only one day here? The entire campus features a few beautiful tents and cottages, which I’ll show you later. One unique feature of Anejhari Butterfly Camp is the morning nature walk with a naturalist. It’s an 8 km walk deep into the forest. That said, this walk is not mandatory. You can simply stay on the campus and explore the surroundings. However, if you choose to join the walk, you'll experience the true beauty of the forest. In the morning, the only sounds you’ll hear are the diverse twitters of birds, occasionally interrupted by the loud calls of langurs. You might even spot a Grey Junglefowl passing by. Walking through the red soil paths amid the lush greenery of Mookambika is truly rejuvenating. If you'd like to book this property, you can visit the JLR website and search for Anejhari Butterfly Camp. I would strongly recommend this place to any nature lover. Spend at least two days here—one of which you can dedicate to visiting the Kollur Mookambika Temple, located just 5 km from the property.
