| Approximate size(adult): | A medium-sized leaf warbler, about 12–13 cm long. It has olive-green upperparts, yellowish underparts, a prominent pale supercilium, and a stout, broad bill that distinguishes it from other Phylloscopus warblers.

| Resident/ Migrate from: | Breeds in the Himalayas and adjoining mountain ranges of northern Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, and southern China.

| Migrate to: | Winters in southern India, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia, where it inhabits forested lowlands and foothills.

| Breeding season: | May to July, during the summer in its Himalayan breeding range. Builds a domed nest on the ground, often hidden among grass or roots.

| Breed in: | Temperate montane forests and rhododendron or oak scrub across the middle to upper Himalayas.

| Habitat: | During winter, found in evergreen forests, wooded gardens, and forest edges up to about 1,500 m in elevation. Prefers dense foliage and shaded areas.

| Diet: | Insectivorous, feeding on small insects, larvae, and spiders, which it gleans from leaves and branches while actively moving through the canopy.
