Least Concern

About 15 cm in length. A small, slender warbler with a long tail often held cocked upward.

A resident species found throughout India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and parts of Pakistan.

Non-migratory, though may make local post-breeding movements.

Typically breeds from February to September in India, depending on regional rainfall. The nest is a deep cup or pouch made of grass and spider silk, placed low in shrubs or tall grasses.

Found breeding in open scrublands, dry grasslands, and shrubby edges near cultivation.

Prefers dry open country, grasslands, scrub, and semi-arid regions, sometimes near human habitation.

Primarily insectivorous, feeding on insects, caterpillars, and other small arthropods gleaned from low vegetation.
