Least Concern

Small warbler about 11–13 cm in length. It has a grey head and breast, olive-brown upperparts, and whitish underparts, with a long tail often held cocked.

Resident species across India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.

Non-migratory, though may show minor local movements within its range.

Breeds mainly from March to October in most parts of India. The nest is a deep, purse-like structure made of grass and spider silk, usually suspended between leaves in low vegetation.

Found breeding in scrublands, gardens, grasslands, and forest edges, often close to human habitation.

Occupies open grassy areas, scrub, gardens, and light woodland, avoiding dense forests and high mountains.

Primarily insectivorous, feeding on insects, caterpillars, and small arthropods, gleaned from foliage or captured in short flights.
