| Approximate size(adult): | Length about 8–10 cm; weight ~6–8 g. A tiny, vibrant sunbird with crimson back and rump, metallic green crown, purple throat, and olive-brown wings. Females are olive-brown above and yellowish below. Has a short, down-curved bill. |
| Resident/ Migrate from: | Resident and endemic to the Western Ghats of India and nearby regions, including Kerala, Goa, and southern Maharashtra. Non-migratory. |
