| Approximate size(adult): | Length about 58–62 cm including tail; weight ~200–300 g. Large parakeet with predominantly green plumage, bluish shoulder patch, long tail, and red beak. Males have a maroon patch on the wings and a black-and-pink neck ring.

| Resident/ Migrate from: | Resident in South and Southeast Asia, including India, Sri Lanka, and parts of Southeast Asia. Some populations may move locally in response to food availability.
